17.07.08: we are very excited to announce that the feature film for which we have written and recorded an original score, ten empty, is now showing in australian cinemas. ten empty, which filmink has said “…resounds with rare honesty and sings with hard fought emotional truth”, delves behind the barbecues, beer and brick veneer of suburban australia, delivering a moving and uplifting drama. directed by anthony hayes and co-written by anthony hayes and brendan cowell, the film's excellent cast includes daniel frederiksen, geoff morrell, lucy bell, tom budge, brendan cowell, blazey best and jack thompson. the trailer for the film can be seen here, and you can read lots more about it at the official website www.tenempty.com.

our score, which has now been released digitally via itunes (aus), was recorded last year by steven schram, who recorded our 2007 album runaways. it's our first feature film score, and we enjoyed the process immensely. we recorded roughly eighteen cues, mixing some of the most delicate music we have ever made with some of the most tense. the soundtrack ep feautures ten of these new instumental pieces, as well as break for me (from our 2004 album second storey). head on over to itunes and grab it.

in other aof news, we are slowly working up ideas and tunes for album four, but as yet we have only distant plans for recording. there is a chance of shows later in the year so stay tuned. for now, please go along and see ten empty, we hope you enjoy it.

all the best, aof.
